Kakheti "Kakhuri No. 8" by Teliani Valley

Kakhuri No. 8 is a blend of four Georgian indigenous grape varieties – Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Khikhvi and Kisi, harvested in Kakheti, east Georgia. Grapes are hand picked to secure quality, fully ripe grapes. The wine is made using an old Kakhetian traditional winemaking method with skin contact. Fermentation on skins takes place for 7-10 days. After the fermentation is finished the grape skins remain with the wine for six months.

Tasting Notes

Textured savoury medium-bodied wine without the excessive tannins or bitterness common to the style. Dried citrus and stone fruits spanning orange peel, apricot, and peach, mingle with chamomile tea on the nose and palate. A gentle grip and pleasing sapidity give the dry, elegant finish additional length.
