Bianco di Custoza DOC "Ca' del Magro" by Monte del Frà

Ca' del Magro is the estate's 'Cru' wine, where fruit is produced on a gravelly, rocky hill in the municipality of Sommacampagna, just southeast of Lake Garda. It is a blend of a number of different grape varieties, all treated in their own way. However, skin contact for around a month. Lees contact. It was first produced in 1998.

Tasting Notes

A light golden colour. Notes of apricot, peach, tea, beeswax. Very succulent with distinctive mineral character. Attractive grainy texture. Acidity is fresh, lifting some of the weightier tropical fruit components. Long complex finish. Outstanding advert for the territory and great reminder of how good Custoza wines can be.

Tasting Notes

Stronger apricot notes starting to develop. Fairly tropical with time in the glass, mango and pineapple come through. Remains elegant, and airy, lots of white flower and lemon rind to stand up to notes of saffron and white pepper. Mineral character more evident that in younger vintages. A structured white with lots of potential.

Tasting Notes

A very enticing floral, almost heady, aromas with white flower, ginger, tea leaves and zesty citrus standing prominently. A little saffron. Beautiful layers of juicy stone fruit on the palate, with strong slate minerals. Honeyed on the finish, with flashes of citrus and spicy herb. Should age well.
