A fine nose of black fruit compote with fragrant aromas of violet and earth. Gentle notes of blueberry, spice and subtle chocolate give this an intriguingly seductive bouquet. In the mouth it’s powerful but velvety, typical of Lagrein’s austere character when expertly handled. Balanced and approachable, it gives a long, deep finish of well integrated dark berry fruit, smoke and spice. A top wine from an underrated grape variety.
