Verona IGP "Libero" by Cantina Roberto Mazzi

Libero was first produced in 1995, and again in 96 and 97. The project brought together Nebbiolo, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, a most unusual trilogy in the Valpolicella area, alongside the addition of dried Corvina and Corvinone grapes. It has recently been released, starting from the 2016 vintage.

Tasting Notes

Restrained nose gradually reveals layers of black fruit and damp earth. Takes a while to open out but when it does, it seduces with elegant floral aromas, ethereal fragrances of violets, spice and chocolate. Thunderous waves of blackcurrant compote engulf a robust, tannic structure. Matched by prominent acidity and alcohol to ensure a top wine and a triumph for the Mazzi family.
