Also known as Valdarno di Sopra DOC and incorporating the former Pietraviva DOC, it covers a range of wine styles.
Despite covering less than 100 hectares of vineyard, Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC has one of the most complex set of criteria for winemaking. On the one hand this is positive as the consorzio are clearly active, attempting to regulate quality through production restrictions. On the other hand, it leaves the consumer puzzled and disengaged.
