Located about 50km north of [Bordeaux](/region/bordeaux), St-Estèphe is home to some of the left bank’s key châteaux. Although the appellation has long been on the premium wine map, recent cellar innovations at top estates such as [Château Calon-Ségur](/producer/chateau-calon-segur), [Château Montrose](/producer/chateau-montrose) and [Château Cos d’Estournel](/producer/chateau-cos-destournel) have re-kindled interest in this traditionally rustic corner of the Médoc.
