Caprettone is a white grape variety found in Campania, particularly the volcanic soils of the Vesuvius national park. It is used primarily in the Lacryma Christi style wines of the Vesuvio DOC.
"A curious white with a husky perfumed nose, earth and sandalwood in particular. Clean green fruit also prevalent. Plenty of complexity, with notes of apple, yellow plum and lilac. On the palate it is juicy, some mineral feel, with a long finish of melon and wild fauna. Delicate and elegant."
