Glera

Glera is a white Italian grape variety used in the production of Prosecco wines. It is perhaps best suited to the sedimentary soils that characterise large areas of the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene appellation. An affinity with water retaining, mineral rich marl not only increases fruit and floral notes, but also tends to increase the persistence of the wines. There is a growing focus on old vine Glera, single vineyard expressions and its relationship with lees contact.

Offspring: Vitovska
