Zibibbo, more commonly known as Moscato di Alessandria in Italy or Muscat d'Alexandrie in France, is the the variety's name in Sicily and the smaller island of Pantelleria. It produces sweet 'passito' style wines, but there is also a growing movement of winemakers producing dry expressions of the grape.
"Intense aromas of apricot, honey, fig dominate the first wave of aromas. A luscious palate of ripe fruit. Layers of stone and tropical fruit zip around the mouth. A touch of caramel emerges. Candied notes. Endlessly complex. Subtle nuances of coastal scrub. Faint spice. Long, hedonistic finish. Top wine. Very excited to see this develop over time."
