Salice Salentino DOC Riserva by Cantina Moros

Salice Salentino DOC Riserva by Cantina Moros

Key wine information

Producer Cantina Moros
Style Still
Colour Red
Grape Blend Negroamaro (100%)
Appellation Salice Salentino DOC
Region Puglia
Alcohol 15.0%

Tasting Notes

Delicious nose of herbal complexity and savoury notes. Ripe red fruit still coming through alongside typical leathery notes of aged Negroamaro. Dry tannin on the finish. Still structured and with reasonably good acidity. As Salice Salentino goes this a good effort but let down slightly by an over generous use of new oak.

Tasting Notes

An elegant expression of Salice Salentino. None of the tannic grip that characterises other wines of the area, but plenty of fleshy ripe fruit to complement a complex nose of dried herbs, layered berry fruit and sweet spice. A touch of oak lingers throughout, but it’s refined - a considerable improvement on the 2012. This is a well made wine with plenty of ageing potential. The finish is long and balanced.
