Château Clinet

Prestigious estate in Pomerol.

🗺 Bordeaux, France

Visit the Château Clinet website

Château Clinet is one of the great names of Pomerol, having produced quality wines in the village for hundreds of years. In fact, Château Clinet occupies some of the oldest vineyards in Pomerol with earliest records going back to 1595.

Where in Pomerol are the vineyards? The vineyards neighbour Château L’Eglise Clinet, Château Feytit-Clinet and Château Trotanoy, whilst there is an additional plot that neighbours Château Lafleur and Petrus. The site remains one of the highest vineyards in the appellation with the highest elevation at 35 metres.

Recent history In 1999 the estate was bought by Jean-Louis Laborde and in 2004 his son, Ronan Laborde, took over managing the estate. Under Ronan’s stewardship an ambitious quality focussed plan was created, aiming to replanted the vineyards with higher density and renovating the cellar. The project was completed in 2014. This 10 year operation has transformed Château Clinet into one of the right bank's iconic wines.
