Crisana, located in the northwest of Romania, produces wines from a range of different grape varieties. A more continental climate gives wines with higher acidy making sparkling wine particularly popular. Typical grapes grown in Crisana include Cadarcă and Mustoasa de Maderat, although there is plenty of representation from international varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
