Quincy is one of a host of recently fashionable satellite appellations to the the [Loire Valley's](/region/loire-valley) iconic [Sancerre AOC](/appellation/sancerre-aoc) and Pouilly-Fumé AOC. Quincy AOC can be produced in the villages of Quincy and Brinay. It produces intense and mineral driven white wines from the Sauvignon grape; more often than not this will be [Sauvignon Blanc](/sauvignon-blanc), but there are some plantings of the lesser known [Sauvignon Gris](/sauvignon-gris).
