Established in 1972, the Amynteo appellation is considered one of Greece's great Xinomavro expressions.
#### One of the great Xinomavro terroirs Along with [Goumenissa PDO](/appellation/goumanissa-pdo), [Naousa PDO](/appellation/naousa-pdo) and Rapsani PDO, Amynteo is considered one of the top expressions of the dark and brooding [Xinomavro](/xinomavro) grape. It is the northernmost territory and at an average elevation of 615m it is the highest.
