Ginestra is a light skinned white grape variety grown in the South of Italy. Historically it was cultivated in Campania, especially around Naples. DNA studies have revealed it to be the same grape as Biancazita, while also showing a close relationship with Caprettone.
"Intense, husky nose, full of ripe apricot and pungent broom. Very floral, with waves of stone fruit. Faint salty notes. A dense, soapy palate oozing with peach melba. Very complex, lots going on, with a long distinctive grapey finish."
"Explosive notes of exotic fruit. Some ripe peach and blossom, faint bloom. Beautiful fragrant. Light, pretty, deftly balanced. A touch of brioche cushions the flow of juicy fruit. Instantly recognisable as a fine wine. Very impressive."
