Malvasia di Lipari

Malvasia di Lipari is a white grape variety found on the island of Lipari, just of the coast of Sicily. It was said as early as the 1st century BC by Diodorus Siculus that it was introduced by the Greeks. It is well suited to making sweet wines in the passito style. It is also known as Malvasia di Sardegna and sometimes blended with Corinto Nero.
