Grillo

White grape variety found predominantly in Sicily. It producers dry, slightly floral wines with modest character. There are a growing number of good quality examples around however. Crucially however, it provides the spine for quality driven Marsala wines.

"Intense stone fruit character with notes of orange peel, juicy white peach. Very tropical, with prickly notes of wild fauna. Subtle creaminess, but a juicy, tropical, succulent expression. Quite full and weighty with a fresh salinity on the finish."
