Cinsault

Cinsault is a high quality red grape variety found in Southern France and Lebanon. Over the last decade or so there has been a steady stream of exciting single vineyard wines produced from old vines that are firmly establishing Cinsault as fantastic variety capable of giving ethereal, complex red wines.

Offspring: Pinotage

Wines made from Cinsault

Côtes du Rhône AOC "L’O de Joncier"

Domaine du Joncier , Southern Rhône, Rhône Valley

Grenache (98%)Cinsault (2%)

"A light and refreshing Côtes du Rhône produced with balance, harmony and character. Not particularly complex but vibrant and energetic, thanks no doubt to four years of certified biodynamic farming. This is savoury and moreish but with just enough polish to make it stand out in a crowd."
